Whew...what a crazy couple of weeks it has been. Work has been even busier than normal for me (overtime - boo) and Paul has been working hard, studying for class and doing some P.T. a couple times a week for his bum back. Then on top of the busy-ness of our day to day, Paul's sister just had a baby (cutie pie Ava Lillian) about 2 weeks ago. Lots of visiting and oohing and aahing... So yeah, whew....And here I thought June would be a slower month for us. Guess not. *sigh* Oh well, all the activity just gets us warmed up to kick it into high gear in July.
Speaking of warm, last Sunday we had absolutely beautiful weather (including low humidity, which has been hard to come by lately) so we got out the girl's pool and let them have a little fun and burn off some energy. What a great afternoon! Between the pool and the slide, the girls had a blast! The pictures really speak for themselves...
Fun in the sun
Amelia's obsession with the hat and glasses was priceless - we might have a diva on our hands :D
Even when slippery and sliding down her face, she didn't want to give up the shades
A rare peek of her face, caught by Daddy Paparazzi
Penelope was quick to shed the hat and shades when they got in the way of her playing
She LOVES to splash
And couldn't get enough of filling her cup and dumping it on herself
Oh how I love those ruffles
(and the fact that she's taking her pool toys with her to go down the slide)
I said diva, didn't I???
This one just melts my heart every time I see it
Didn't Paul do an awesome job taking these pictures?! They are so clear and sharp, showing even the water droplets mid-air (very cool). And he totally and completely captured the FUN Amelia and Penelope were having. What's even better - this is just a sample of my favorites. The rest will have to go on Smug Mug soon.
If you haven't noticed, we have sort of been putting off the "18 month" pictures - I have a friend from college that is a photographer and will be in Columbus mid-July. We set up a session with her and figured there was no way we could afford to do pictures in May and again in July so our 18 month pictures will really be 20 months, but who's keeping track (besides us)? :) Anyway, aside from the fact that Paul couldn't get more than 1 or 2 shots of them together (the best being my new banner picture up top), I think these are terrific and should count for "18 months"!
