Oops....

I can't believe it's already February 6th.  Where did January go?!?!?  I've been trying to get this Christmas recap posted for the past couple of weeks.  Oops...  My days are just flying by lately.  Paul and I are taking a vacation and leave in a few short days.  I'm sort of preoccupied with getting ready.  I love taking vacations and traveling but sometimes find the prep work getting ourselves ready to go and making arrangements for the girls and Barkley a bit overwhelming.  I just keep telling myself that it WILL BE WORTH IT once I take that first step onto the soft, warm sand.

So here are a few Christmas pictures (apologies in advance the # of pictures - I did the best I could to narrow it down).  The girls had 3 different occaisions to open gifts and I would say by the time we got to the third, they knew exactly what to do!  There was no stopping them.  :)  It didn't matter who the gift was for, they were going to open it.

At Reinke Gathering

Taking a rest with Mommy before all the festivities get under way

Checking out Grandpa's organ with Kendall

Quite possibly the most beloved gift of all - BARNEY!
(and lucky for Mom and Dad, he sings too)

Penelope can't get him out of the box fast enough

Testing out the new vaccuum

Ready to get some groceries (notice Barney still close by...)

Christmas morning at our house

Tearing into the gifts

Loves the Little People Airplane

Trying out the See n Say

Both really love the Airplane (hmmm...wonder why?!?  :D )

Dollhouse just their size

Both found things in the house that they like

Lining up the Little People in her cart - this is SO Amelia

Neat drawing / doodle board
(water in the "markers" so picture dries quickly and board is clean for next drawing not to mention, no "pretty" drawings on our walls)

At Clopton Celebration

Yep, they know just what to do with the gifts

Got an iron and ironing board...

And some new toys for bath time

Ava was nice enough to share this toy with Penelope

New clothes for her baby doll

So sweet  :)

Penelope demostrating how to use the pretend wipes.  What a HAM!

Taking a rest together late in the afternoon...

Except these silly girls were using Grandpa's new socks for pillows!

We had a great Christmas and I truly enjoyed watching the girls' faces as they experienced all the wonders of the season.  One of the best things - their reaction each and every time we drove by a house with a front yard all lit up with twinkle lights.  No matter what kind of day I had at work, listening to their oohs and aahs on the way home made all that "other" stuff fade into the background.  Kinda makes me wish we could have Christmas lights up all year long.  Well, OK, not really...but you know what I mean!   :)
